Varanasi, Sept 08 (CMC) Over three dozen students of BHU are sitting on indefinite hunger strike to demand the revival of an elected student union in the campus.
Vishal Singh, a University student sitting on dharna said that the internal democracy in the university system is a must to rejuvenate democracy among the students.
On the other hand the University Administration has declared the programme for election for the student's council in the campus. As per the schedule the elections to the council will be held from 14th to 23rd of Sept 2012.
The agitated students are sitting on the hunger strile since 5th of September and none of the officials have visited to talk to them. Only doctors visited the spot to check the health conditions of the students as some of them had reported deterioration.
