New Delhi, Oct 06 (CMC) Delhi Government today indicated taking legal action against Arvind Kejriwal for "illegally" restoring electricity connection of a consumer during protest against "inflated" power and water bills and accused him of trying to spread "anarchy" and "lawlessness" in the city.

Slamming Kejriwal for "breaching" the law and asking people not to pay electricity bills, Delhi Power Minister Harun Yusuf said legal action must be taken against him.

"Kejriwal is trying to spread anarchy and lawlessness in the city. He does not believe in law and order. We will not allow him to succeed. Legal action must be taken against Kejriwal for his illegal act and instigating people to do so," Yusuf said.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal launched a 'bijli-paani satyagraha' to protest against "inflated" power and water bills and hike in tariffs by restoring electricity connection to the household of a labourer which was disconnected for non-payment of bills.
The Minister also appealed to people in the city not to follow Kejriwal and respect rule of law.

"I am appealing to the citizens not get instigated by Kejriwal. There are grivance redressal mechanisms where a consumer can seek redressal of their grivances. People can go to Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission or approch Delhi Government," he said.

Kejriwal launched his protest at Tigri Colony in South Delhi by restoring the power connection of the labourer, who claimed that he got a bill for Rs 15,000 last month and connection disconnected as he could not pay it.

He said the India Against Corruption will hold a dharna tomorrow and burn electricity bills in 114 municipal wards.
