Ramesh Jairam said scams ruined Congress image: Sidhnath Singh
Clean Media Correspondent
Ranchi, Sept 14 (CMC) Slamming Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh for converting "off-the-record remarks into on-the-record" of his talks with Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda, BJP leader Sidhnath Singh today alleged that Ramesh had told him "two big scams has ruined" the image of Congress.
"Jairam Ramesh should not have divulged off-the-record dialogue made in private. But I would also want to divulge something which Ramesh and other Congress leaders had told me off-the–record that coal allotment and 2-G scams have ruined the image of Congress," Singh said at a press conference here.
"If Ramesh can do it, why can’t I," the BJP’s in-charge for party affairs of West Bengal replied when asked whether he too not breaking the convention of not divulging off-the-record statements.
The union minister had yesterday told the media that during his meeting with the chief minister the latter said that he (Munda) was against the auction route of coal blocks and if coal blocks were de-allocated to a particular company the state would be a loser.
