Modi winds up yatra, attacks PM, but silent on Vadra

Ahemadabad, Oct 11 (CMC) Winding up his month long Swami Vivekanand Yatra, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi continued his attacks on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, accusing them of not "treating Gujarat as part of India."
Exhorting the public to not hand over Gujarat to "corrupts and scamsters" he listed achievements of last 11 years of his government in office.
Hitting out at the Prime Minister in his usual rhetorical style, he said, "I want to ask the Prime Minister why Gujarat is not treated as part of India and showcased to the world." The BJP leader also attacked UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi again saying she might come to Gujarat, but the state would "not go into the hands of corrupt people".
However, Modi has remained silent on controversy surrounding Robert Vadra, who has been accused of getting favours from realty major DLF.
"Narendra Modi wants to focus on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He does not want to divert his focus from them now," a BJP leader close to Modi said.
Meanwhile, Gujarat BJP on Thursday issued a statement saying the Modi government in the state has not offered any favour to DLF as suggested in some reports which claimed that the Modi government had given one lakh square metre prime location land in Gandhinagar at below market rate.
However, Gujarat BJP leader Purushottam Rupala in a statement said that the said land given to DLF in 2007 was taken back by the state authorities in 2009 because the company had failed to put up the project as promised.
During his month long yatra, Modi toured through 150 assembly constituencies while addressed over two dozen public rallies across the state.
"He launched his Yatra from Becharaji, where goddess Becharaji temple is located, then went to Ambaji and now Pavagadh. So in a way, he has visited most of the famous and popular Hindu religious places. This is clearly a soft Hindutva line he has taken," a noted social scientist Achyut Yagnik said, adding "Modi is raising Hindu Mother Goddess in a subtle way."
