New Delhi, Nov 14 (CMC) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again reasserted its support to its beleaguered president Nitin Gadkari. This comes after confusion over a series of tweets on Tuesday by RSS ideologue S Gurumurthy. Gurumurthy in his tweets appeared to have been distancing himself over his defence of Gadkari, but later tried to clear the air by once again coming out in support of Gadkari.
He even deleted some of the tweets he asserted were being misinterpreted. BJP leader Balbir Punj has said that party stands by the statement issued in support of Gadkari issued last week by the extended core group of the BJP. "There is absolutely no confusion in the minds of Gurumurthy and the BJP. Gadkari has absolutely done nothing wrong either morally or legally," Punj said.
The stand was taken after Gurumurthy explained his defence by making a presentation before the group. Gurumurthy, on whose analysis of the the Purti Group account the BJP had backed Gadkari, on Tuesday made a flip flop when he declined to have given him a clean chit and later retracted his remarks.

"I have not given clean chit to NG (Nitin Gadkari). I cannot give clean chit to any one who I don't know fully I don't know NG at all," Gurumurthy reportedly posted on the micro-blogging site around noon. As his remarks created a flutter in the cyber world and the media, he deleted his posts a couple of hours later.
"I think I am being misinterpreted. I have clearly said that the media allegations on Gadkari is false. If this is clean chit I have given it," he posted. In another tweet, he said, "Let me clarify that I have given clear chit to Gadkari on Purti affairs. That is all."
His last tweet on this issue was at 2.40 pm on Tuesday. It said, "I have deleted only the tweets they are misinterpreting. Not all."
Meanwhile, the Congress has once again attacked the main opposition party by calling it a divided house. "BJP Lokpal Gurumurty Acquits Gadkari-BJP applauds He now withdraws his observation- Now says-National BJP shouldn't do business BJP silent! (sic)," Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh said.
