होबार्ट: 28 फरवरी: (सीएमसी)  सीबी सीरीज के 11वें मुकाबले में भारत ने सात विकेट से धमाकेदार जीत दर्ज की है। श्रीलंका द्वारा दिए 321 रन के लक्ष्य को टीम इंडिया ने 36.4 ओवरों में हासिल कर लिया। कोहली 133 रन और रैना 33 रन बनाकर नाबाद रहे। 

विराट कोहली के बेहतरीन नाबाद शतक की बदौलत टीम इंडिया ने श्रीलंका को 7 विकेट से हराया। भारत ने बोनस अंक के साथ इस जीत को हासिल किया। श्रीलंका द्वारा दिए 321 रन के विशाल लक्ष्य को भारतीय बल्लेबाजों ने 80 गेंदें शेष रहते ही हासिल कर लिया।

इस जीत ने टीम इंडिया की सीबी सीरीज में वापसी करवा दी है। सीरीज की अंकतालिका में ऑस्ट्रेलिया 19 अंकों के साथ शीर्ष पर है। जबकि भारत और श्रीलंका दोनों के पास 15-15 अंक हैं। यदि ऑस्ट्रेलिया अगले मुकाबले में श्रीलंका को हरा देता है तो भारत फाइनल में पहुंच जाएगा।

गाजियाबाद: 28 फरवरी: (सीएमसी) अन्ना हजारे के अहम सहयोगी अरविंद केजरीवाल आज मताधिकार का प्रयोग नहीं कर सके। वोट डालने के लिए गोवा की फ्लाइट छोड़कर एयरपोर्ट से केजरीवाल जब वापस गाजियाबाद लौटे और बूथ पर वोट डालने पहुंचे तो पता चला कि उनका नाम ही वोटर लिस्ट में नहीं है। अरविंद कौशाम्बी के मतदाता हैं। कौशांबी साहिबाबाद विधानसभा क्षेत्र में आता है।
अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि उनका नाम वोटर लिस्ट में नहीं होना दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है। इसके बाद वह गोवा जाने के लिए एयरपोर्ट रवाना हो गए हैं।
मीडिया के द्वारा वोटिंग वाले प्रश्न पर उन्हों ने कहा कि वह आज वोट नहीं डालेंगे क्योकि उनका गोवा में कार्यक्रम तय है। लेकिन थोड़ी देर बाद ही पता चला कि वह अपना गोवा दौरा रद कर वोट डालने गाजियाबाद लौट आए, लेकिन वोटिंग कर नहीं सके।

Varanasi: Feb 28: (CMC)  Vice Chancellor Dr. Lalji Singh visited Hospital to inspect the vacated basement and junkyard taken out. Dr. Lalji Singh during his earlier visit to the hospital had shown concern for unnecessary junkyard accumulated in the basement since last 30 years. He had then ordered that the basement should be vacated by his next visit. 

Today the basement is completely vacated and possibility of utilizing this space was discussed in the presence of Medical Superintendent, Director IMS, Chief Proctor, Finance Officer, Registrar, and other officials of hospital. It may be mentioned here that Dr. Lalji Singh is taking keen interest in improvement of facilities in the hospital. He is almost visiting hospital at the interval of 7-10 days in a month. Due to his constant visit and monitoring he was able to create around 5000 sq. feet space which will be utilize for parking and other hospital use after necessary water proofing treatment and renovation. He gave strict orders the junkyard collected out of basement should be cleared up at the top priority and when he visits next time he should not see the junkyard lying here. 
Today again he inspected and identified some more space in the ground floor of the hospital where about 5 rooms, a big hall occupied by few security guards and a lab locked since several years are being not utilized. He ordered to shift for security guard and opened the lab locked since several years. He immediately ordered this space about 5000 Sq. feet be vacated at top priority and renovated to accommodate some more beds for patients and also may be providing space for attendant  of patients was also discussed. Dr. US Dwivedi, Medical Superintendent was very happy to share that due to Vice Chancellor’s 3-4 visit the SS Hospital has added about 10,000 Sq. feet usable space without constructing new structure for the hospital.

नई दिल्ली/कलकत्ता, 28 फरवरी: (सीएमसी)  आजादी के बाद देश की सबसे बड़ी हड़ताल का मिलाजुला असर दिख रहा है। बैंकिंग और पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट सेवाएं बुरी तरह से प्रभावित हुई हैं, जिसकी वजह से लोगों को काफी परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। दिल्ली समेत देशभर में सड़कों से ऑटो-टैक्सी नदारद हैं। हालांकि, सरकारी ट्रांसपोर्ट, मेट्रो, रेल और विमान सेवाओं पर इसका ज्यादा असर नहीं दिख रहा है। 
कई काम निजी क्षेत्र को आउटसोर्सिंग करने समेत अनेक मुद्दों के खिलाफ पब्लिक सेक्टर के बैंक कर्मचारी हड़ताल में शामिल हुए, जिससे बैंकिंग सेवाएं प्रभावित हुईं। पब्लिक सेक्टर की इंश्योरेंस कंपनियों ने भी हड़ताल का समर्थन किया है। देश के बैंकिंग कारोबार में सरकारी बैंकों की हिस्सेदारी 75 % है। प्राइवेट सेक्टर के आईसीआईसीआई,एचडीएफसी और एक्सिस बैंक तथा विदेशी बैंकों में क्लियरिंग जैसी सेवाओं को छोड़कर अन्य का कामकाज सामान्य तरीके से हो रहा है। 

कोलकाता में हड़ताल से जनजीवन अप्रभावित रहा। मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने राज्य सरकार के कर्मचारियों को चेतावनी दी है कि ड्यूटी पर गैरहाजिर रहने पर उनके खिलाफ 'सेवा में बाधा' जैसी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। 
पूर्वी रेलवे के हावड़ा, आसनसोल और माल्दा डिविजन में ट्रेन सेवाएं सामान्य हैं। कई बड़ी यूनियनों ने बढ़ती कीमतों, पीएसयू में विनिवेश और सरकार की श्रम विरोधी नीतियों के कारण एक देशव्यापी हड़ताल का आह्वान किया है।

गाजियाबाद: 28 फरवरी: (सीएमसी)  बागपत विधानसभा हो या फिर भट्टा परसौल जहां पर राहुल गांधी ने जमीनी मुआवजे को लेकर किसानों के साथ जंग छेड़ी थी, में मतदान केंद्रों पर लंबी लंबी कतारें देखने को मिली हैं। शुरुआती दो घंटों में छठे दौर के मतदान में करीब दस फीसदी मतदान हो चुका है। मोदीनगर में भी करीब बारह ईवीएम मशीनों को खराबी के चलते बदल दिया गया है। मतदान सुबह सात बजे शुरू हुआ और शाम पांच बजे तक चलेगा।

बागपत विधानसभा में शुरुआती दो घटे में नौ फीसदी, गाजियाबाद में दस फीसदी, आगरा में नौ फीसदी, नोयडा में नौ फीसदी, मथुरा में तेरह फीसदी, मतदान की खबर है। आगरा और धौलाना में कुछ वोटिंग मशीनों के खराबी के बाद मतदान में देरी हुई। बागपत में पिछले मतदान में करीब 46 फीसदी मतदान हुआ था लेकिन इस बार यहां पर रिकार्ड मतदान होने के कयास लगाए जा रहे हैं।

लॉस एंजिल्स: 28 फरवरी: (सीएमसी)  एकेडमी अवार्ड में पिछले साल प्रदर्शन करने वाले दिग्गज संगीतकार ए आर रहमान ने एक बार फिर इस साल भी अपनी धुन से प्रतिष्ठित समारोह में समां बांध दिया।

अपने साथी पफरेर्मरों की तस्वीर के साथ फेसबुक पर किए पोस्ट में रहमान ने कहा, ‘ऑस्कर संगमम – अगर आप ऑस्कर का सीधा प्रसारण देख रहे हैं तो हैंस जिमर की अगुवाई वाले हमारे ऑस्कर सुपरबैंड को आज पफरेर्म करते हुए देखिए।’ 46 साल के संगीतकार ने 2009 में ‘स्लमडॉग मिलिनेयर’ के लिए दो ऑस्कर जीता था । रविवार की पूरी रात अपने वाद्ययंत्रों और आवाज से उन्होंने समारोह के दर्शकों को मंत्रमुगध किए रखा।

पिछले साल ऑस्कर में उन्होंने ‘127 आवर्स’ की अपनी धुन को प्रस्तुत किया था। 84वें एकेडमी अवार्ड में फरेल विलियम्स के साथ ‘द डार्क नाइट राइजेज’ के संगीतकार हैंस जिमर समारोह के संगीत सलाहकार थे।

ओस्लो: 28 फरवरी: (सीएमसी)  नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार के लिए बिल क्लिंटन, हेल्मुट कोल, यूरोपीय संघ और विकिलिक्स संदिग्ध ब्राडली मैनिंग सहित कुल 231 व्यक्तियों को नामित किया गया है।

नोबेल संस्थान के प्रमुख गैर लुनडेस्टाड ने बताया कि हमेशा की तरह विश्व के कोने-कोने से सामान्य ‘प्रत्याशियों’ और कुछ नये आगंतुकों, कुछ मशहूर और कुछ अनजान लोगों को इसमें शामिल किया गया है।

इसमें 188 व्यक्ति और 43 संगठनों के नाम शामिल है।

पिछले साल 241 व्यक्तियों को इसके लिए नामित किया गया था और यह प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार लाइबेरिया के राष्ट्रपति एलेन जॉनसन सरलीफ, लाइबेरिया के कार्यकर्ता लेयमाह गबोवी और यमन के ‘अरब देशों में चली बदलाव की बयार’ के कार्यकर्ता तवाक्कोल करमान को दिया गया था।

मुंबई, 28 फरवरी: (सीएमसी)  गोधरा हत्याकांड की बरसी को ‘शर्म का 10वां साल’ करार देते हुए निलंबित आईपीएस अधिकारी संजीव भट्ट ने गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की आलोचना की और कहा कि राज्य में लोकतंत्र की हत्या हो रही है।
गोधरा कांड के पीड़ितों के लिए न्याय की लड़ाई को ‘भारत के आत्मा की लड़ाई’ करार देते हुए भट्ट ने कहा, ‘यह लड़ाई किसी एक धर्म या व्यक्ति के समर्थन में नहीं लड़ी जा रही है।’

नई दिल्‍ली: 28 फरवरी: (सीएमसी)  दिल्‍ली में करीब दो हफ्ते पहले इजरायली दूतावास की कार में विस्‍फोट की घटना में ईरानी संगठन का हाथ होने का संदेह है। सूत्रों से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार, इस कार ब्‍लास्‍ट को अंजाम देने वाला हमलावर देश से बाहर का हो सकता है। उच्‍च पदस्‍थ सूत्रों ने यह भी कहा कि इस मामले में अभी बाकी सबूत जुटाए जा रहे हैं।

रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, ईरानी संगठन का हाथ इस विस्‍फोट को अंजाम देने में हो सकता है। हालांकि जांच एजेंसियां अभी और सबूत जुटा रहे हैं। पुख्‍ता सबूत मिलने और जांच खत्‍म होने के बाद ईरान को सूचित किया जाएगा। यह रिपोर्ट उस समय सामने आई, जब एक दिन पहले शीर्ष इजरायली सुरक्षा अधिकारियों ने दावा किया था कि भारतीय खुफिया के पास इस मामले में कुछ ठोस सबूत हाथ लगे हैं।

Islamabad: A seven-member bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan will resume on Tuesday to hear the contempt of court case against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. 
Gilani's counsel Aitzaz Ahsan submitted a reply in the apex court in the contempt case yesterday. 
The counsel moved an application seeking the summoning of three witnesses as court witnesses in the interest of a fair trial. 
Ahsan filed his application under various government rules read with sections of the Criminal Procedure Code for summoning of witnesses and documents.

Dhaka: Feb 28: (CMC)   Hundreds of Bangladeshi journalists on Monday held a one-hour work stoppage to demand justice for colleagues who were killed earlier this month. 
Scores of journalists put down their pens and cameras in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka. Similar protests took place across the country. 
Police say they are making progress in the deaths of Sagar Sarwar and his wife, Meherun Runi. But no suspects have been arrested and no evidence has been disclosed. 
The two were stabbed to death on Feb 11 at their apartment in Dhaka. Sarwar was news editor of the
private TV station Massranga and Runi was a reporter at another station, ATN Bangla. 
The Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists says the protests will continue until the killers are arrested.

Washington: Feb 28: (CMC)   Denouncing the disclosure of its emails by WikiLeaks, the whistleblower website, as "deplorable breach of privacy", the US-based intelligence firm Stratfor cautioned that some of them may be forged or altered to include inaccuracies. 
In a video message to Stratfor subscribers, founder and CEO, George Friedman said that his resignation email was forged. 
"Emails sent to many people about my resignation were clearly forged," he said. 
Friedman said in December that thieves hacked into Stratfor data systems and stole a large number of company emails, as well as private information of Stratfor subscribers and friends. 
"Today WikiLeaks is publishing the emails that were stolen in December. This is a deplorable, unfortunate -- and illegal -- breach of privacy," he said. 
Friedman said that some of the emails might be forged or altered to include inaccuracies while some might be authentic. 
"We will not validate either, nor will we explain the thinking that went into them. Having had our property stolen, we will not be victimised twice by submitting to questions about them," he said.

Bangalore: Feb 28: (CMC)   With the stern stand adopted by the BJP high command against his intense bid to regain chief ministership, Karnataka strongman BS Yeddyurappa on Monday dropped his plans to turn his 70th birthday celebrations into a show of strength, making it a low-key affair.
Taking a cautious path with BJP chief Nitin Gadkari snubbing him and ruling out replacing Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda three days ago, sulking Yeddyurappa appeared to retreat at least for now contrary to earlier expectations that he would announce his future plans today.
He told the gathering that had converged to celebrate his birthday that he had sought the chief minister post as the central leadership had promised to reinstate him six months after he was asked to step down over his indictment by the Lokayukta in its report on illegal mining.

59-year-old Jain had gone absconding after the CBI filed a charge sheet against him last June accusing him of masterminding the fake encounter of Dara Singh.
