Munda disappointed at Jharkhand road condition

Giridih, Nov 3 (CMC) Chief Minister Arjun Munda today looked disappointed at the bad road conditions as he set out on a three-day tour to inspect roads across Jharkhand.
?I have directed the officials of road construction department to repair the roads in Giridih town and other areas,? Munda told reporters when he reached Giridih inspecting roads on the way.
Munda, who had on October 25 announced that he would embark on a week-long first-phase road inspection tour, enquired from engineers on roads and directed to repair potholes at the earliest.
He asked them that future road projects should remain in good condition for three years from the date of completion of work.
Warning officials of the road construction department of action if repair work was not taken up at the earliest, he said good roads were one of the main development initiatives and the government would not compromise on that count.
This is the first time that a chief minister in Jharkhand was on a road inspection trail in its 11 years of statehood.
Munda, who reached Deogarh after starting from Ranchi-Barasta-Petarwar-Jainamode-Phusro-Dumri-Giridih, would see for himself roads in Dumka tomorrow.
