Clean Media Correspondent
Bangalore, Nov 03 (CMC): In a big reprieve to the former Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa and BJP the Karnataka High Court today granted bail to the former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in two graft cases. He had sought regular bail in the two Lokayukta court matters.
After the bail order, the beleagured former CM is expected to be out of jail now any time this afternoon.
Earlier on Thursday the Karnataka High Court had adjourned further hearing till today, on the petitions filed by former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, currently lodged in central prison here, seeking regular bail in two corruption cases.
Arguments remained inconclusive before Justice B V Pinto.
In these two cases, the 68-year-old BJP leader was remanded to judicial custody by the Special Lokayukta Court Judge N K Sudhindra Rao on October 15 -- first to October 22 and then to November three.
The cases were registered by Lokayukta police on private complaints by city advocate Sirijan Basha alleging that Yeddyurappa had denotified governments lands for the benefit of his family members.
Yeddyurappa had moved the high court for bail after Special Lokayukta Judge N K Sudhindra Rao rejected his plea for the relief.
