Justice delayed is justice denied!

The verdicts of numerous cases of Indian courts have very often proved the maxim Justice delayed is justice denied as true. Let the case pertain to any serious issue, let it be related to the question of life and death, or to the question of the image of the nation, scams, scandals or whatever important issue, the real justice will prevail years later.

The rope of justice in Indian Courts is very long. A young man becomes a mature man; a mature man grows into an old man, an old man into a senile and then finally may be deceased but this process is much faster than the process of the verdicts/ judgments in the in Indian judicial system.

This depicts that a common man’s life or pain does not matter at all to our judicial system. There are many reasons for the inordinate delay. It is said the law of justice works on one moot principle, let many culpable be freed but let not a single innocent, even by chance be punished. But alas! It seems the judicial system does not even function on its own set principle. Many a times it happens otherwise.
Had the courts been functioning on their own set principles, they could have competently seen well in advance, what even a common man could judge in the petition of Subramaniyam Swamy. P. Chidambaram was not made co-accused in the scam of 2G spectrum. This scam is termed as the biggest scam of the country. Patiala court could not find sufficient evidences to term Chidambaram as co-accused. But why? We cannot question the wisdom of the judges but if at all the judgment is reversed later, who is going to benefit?

We must understand that our so called MENTORS are good at buying time and then perhaps…. The 2G case started in 2008. After even three years all the culprits are not behind the bars. They have not been punished. Still their cases of bails have only been decided. Its good that Supreme Court took enough pain and time to monitor the case neither we could not have achieved even what we have achieved today.

But for the 2G cases to be decided finally the High court and Supreme Court will take their own time, once the trial court decides them first. All this process may take a few more long years. Which will probably mean that it will finally be decided only after the present Prime Minister, the Home Minister and other top authorities would have completed their terms, comfortably. So even if some of them are later punished it will not be of any big value and once again it will be proved that justice delayed is justice denied.
