Queen of Pop Whitney Houston Dead at 48

LOS ANGELES, Feb 12 (CMC) Whitney Houston, popularly known as the 'Queen of Pop' died on Saturday at the age of 48. Her publicist Kristen Foster said that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.
Houston was one of the world's best-selling artists from the middle of 1980's to the late 1990s. Among her hits were 'How Will I Know', 'Saving All My Love for You' and 'I Will Always Love You'.
Her effortless and powerful vocals carried her beyond music to movies, where she starred in hits like Waiting to Exhale and The Bodyguard.
Later in life, her majestic voice and image was ravaged by drug use, erratic behaviour and her wrecked marriage to singer Bobby Brown.
Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. Her album 'Whitney' was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 million albums world wide.
