Varanasi, Feb 13 (CMC) Congress is confident of coming to power in UP on its own but if required, it will have not hesitation in taking the unconditional SP or BSP support alike their support to the UPA govt at the centre, said Digvijay Singh here today.
In an exclusive interview to the "Clean Media Today portal", here today the Congress General Secretary and Incharge of UP affairs Digvijay Singh asserted that Congress will come to the power in UP on its own.
Singh said, "We are going to form the govt in UP on our own but in case we need some seats for clear majority, we have no hesitation in taking the support of Samajwadi Party or the BSP, if they offer it on their own unconditionally, as they have done at the Centre."
Clearly indicating the future politics of the largest poll-state of India,
Digvijay Singh said, "the Rahul factor, the Jadu of Rahul Gandhi, is working and we will see amazing results in UP."
Compared with Bihar Assembly results of 2010, Singh said that Congress has high hopes in UP and it will outperform all the political assessments as in the 2009 loksabha elections, when it had won 22 seats against surevey reports of only 8-9 seats.
He defended the Central Law Minister Salman Khurshid and said that the EC must review its decision against him, as he has done no wrong.
He said, "I am promising 8% reservation to the Muslims in UP, is it wrong, will Election Commission act against me as well?"
