Governments’ Lokpal or ‘Fail’ Pal
This is government’s yet another attempt to befool the public. The proposed Lokpal which is likely to be tabled tomorrow in the parliament is not more than a ‘scare-crow,’ capable enough to scare the crows only but never will it be able to catch the real vultures tightly. All those wings of government which does the maximum corruption have been kept out of the reach of Lokpal. The so called proposed Lokpal, the wings-less Lokpal, can do nothing as per the proposed legislation.
The government has proposed a Lokpal which has no powers but with time it will be held accountable the most. How powerless authority can be held accountable? It is absolutely the mockery of the system and even undermining the authority of the suggested constitutional position of the proposed Lokpal, even before it is constituted and appointed.
Our most of the people’s representatives will do everything to make the Lokpal inefficient but will do nothing to put a strong Lokpal in place. It seems that they do not believe in ‘honesty is the best policy’. It seems that the doors of honesty are unbreakable for them! So, why to put in such an earnest endeavor for an institution which will effectively work to hold them accountable?
The pandemonium which has been created by some of the parliamentarians even before the tabling of the bill in the house, strengthen my arguments.
Government’s Lokpal is in no way a Lokpal but completely a ‘FAIL’ PAL, a COMRADE, who in spite of holding a constitutional position will never be able to help the public. He will be a public’s man with limited powers. He can never shine, even trying to perform the best, in his ‘limited range’. Therefore the public actually needs to be awaken to once again try to get the real powerful accountable Lokpal.
What will happen to our fight for Lokpal...? will it remain illusive!
