CCTVs of little help in cracking cases In Dilhi
Clean Media Correspondent
New Delhi: Mar 21: (CMC)  Some of the markets and localities in the capital may be covered by CCTVs but it appears that the footage from these cameras are of little help in cracking cases if one goes by official statistics.
A total of 836 crimes were reported from markets and localities covered by CCTVs since 2009 but only a dismal 22 cases were solved with the help of the footage provided by them.
According to Delhi Police figures, 67 incidents of crime took place in around 20 markets and other areas covered by CCTVs this year alone but only two cases could be solved with the help of the footage provided by these cameras.
Last year, 17 crimes were solved with the help of CCTV footages but the total number of cases reported from the areas covered under closed circuit cameras were a whopping 442.
