The Nav Durga temples worshiped by devotees in Varanasi

Varanasi: Mar 23: (CMC)  The Nav Durga and Nav Gauri temples worshiped by a sea of devotees during Chaitra Navaratr from the highlight. Starting from first day Shailputry at Madhi Ghat, second day Brammnacharni at Durga Ghat, third day Chitraghanta at Chowk, fourth day Kushmanda at Durga Kund, fifth day Skand Mata at Jaitpura, six day Katyani at Seindhia Ghat, seventh day Kalratri at Kalika Ghat, eight day Mahagauri at Annapurna temple and last day Siddhi datri at Maidagin.
Amonst the other Devi temples the most prominent one is the Durga temple is sesicated to Goddess Durga. Another important Devi temple is the Annpurna temple near Vishwanath temple. This sanctury of Goddess Annpurna was built in 1729 by martha chieftain peshwa Baji Rao. 
The old Laxmi temple is situated near Laxmi Kund, where the famous 16 day fair Sorahiya is organised annually. After it a new and famous addition to the Devi temples in the city has been the Laxmi temple at the Pandeypur on Panchkosi road that has been built on the lines of the famous Lotus temple in New Dilhi.
